Sismik NOFIRE 2 Earthquake Sensor
NOFIRE-2 is an earthquake sensor and alarm device designed in accordance with the TS 12884 standard. The device detects seismic motion and activates predefined scenarios such as natural gas shut-off and elevator nearest-floor completion. It is used to improve building safety and help prevent loss of life during earthquakes.
The device’s LCD display and audible warning system provide clear information to the user. Earthquake detection thresholds are defined according to TS 12884 and are tuned to help prevent unnecessary alarms. Thanks to external sensor inputs, it can also work integrated with fire and gas alarm systems.
General Features
- TS 12884 compliance: Kandilli Observatory approved and provides 3-axis detection.
- Multiple alarm outputs: Activates different scenarios via solenoid valve and relay outputs.
- Audible and visual warnings: Informs users during an earthquake with audible alerts and LCD messages.
- Backup power support: Runs continuously with up to 24 hours of battery backup.
- Fire sensor and emergency stop support: Provides additional safety functions.
Applications
NOFIRE-2 can trigger various safety scenarios during an earthquake:
Natural gas shut-off: Prevents gas leakage and explosion risks.
Elevator nearest-floor completion: Ensures elevators stop safely at the nearest floor.
Electrical shutdown: Reduces the risk of electrical fires.
Activating fire alarm systems: Provides additional safety during earthquakes.
Automatic battery charging feature.
Automation control: Activates automatic scenarios during an earthquake.
NOFIRE 2 Alarm Levels
TS 12884 Earthquake Alarm;
Earthquake devices perform detection according to the values specified in TS 12884 / April 2002 - Article 1.2.2.1.2
under the “Seismic Motion Response Tests”.
Detection values according to TS 12884 / April 2002 - Article 1.2.2.1.2 are as follows.
In this case, the ALARM RELAY outputs and the solenoid valve become active.
The LCD display will show the message EARTHQUAKE ALARM.
To exit this state, the RESET button on the device must be pressed.
Medium-Intensity Earthquake Alarm;
When the earthquake device senses vibration approximately 25% below the earthquake detection thresholds specified in TS 12884,
it activates the warning relay on the device.
In this case, the MEDIUM INTENSITY relay output becomes active.
The LCD display will show the message MEDIUM INTENSITY.
To exit this state, the RESET button on the device must be pressed.
